The commission:
- Voted to pursue a city proclamation for George Floyd Day. Next, the Civil Rights Department can forward the request to the Mayor’s Office.
- Voted to pursue issuing a statement affirming that Minneapolis employers and landlords are legally required to comply with the Minneapolis Civil Rights Ordinance, regardless of what’s happening at the federal level.
- Voted to send an email response to Target, following their rejection of an invitation to attend a Minneapolis Civil Rights Commission meeting.
- Received a presentation from City Council Members Jason Chavez and Robin Wonsley on their proposed amendments to the city’s Civil Rights Ordinance.
